Most of us don’t have a clue how SEO works and today we are going to talk just about that. You see, SEO changes just about every 6 months with new strategies that need to be changed in order to stay ahead of the game. This is why you never see courses in university about SEO, it changes so fast that by the time the curriculum is created, the data is outdated.
This is why you need a site that gives good SEO advice if you are not well versed in SEO and don’t want to pay for an online course. A blog that keeps up with the trends is the best bet as it can be updated. A course that you would take at college (if it exists) would have out-dated data, so that’s why I mentioned that you need something that is constantly updated.
Google will also change their algorithms so if you do one thing today, the next day the work you did could be all for not. This is why you need to execute best practices. It is best to ensure that you are doing only white hat linking, where you are not using any shady black hat tactics like what we have seen many “seo’s” do in the past. This got them in trouble because with Google’s Panda and Penguin updates, a lot of sites were literally removed from the search engine overnight, causing a lot of people a lot of grief and what’s worst – a loss of revenue if their site was monetized.
So don’t fall into a trap like this. If you are looking to maybe sell things online because that’s what this site mostly about shopping – then perhaps being in your own business is for you and you should take the necessary steps to ensure its success. Read reviews, get educated and maybe even find a mentor. It can never be too late but don’t expect things to change overnight – it rarely does. SEO takes a lot of time and patience and also a considerable investment.
